Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Keurig Brewer require a water hook up?
No it does not because it has a “pour-in” reservoir that holds the water that brews the coffee.
How long are the K-Cups good for?
Most K-cups will have a date stamped in the plastic part on the container itself.
How long are the coffee packets good for?
Usually, they are fresh up to 6-8 months, depending on the type you buy. Our “House Blends” are roasted every week, and are considered fresh up to 8 months. Any retail brands that we sell may be a little less fresh because they make them up in high volumes, and we have no date to go by as far as when they were roasted and packaged at the factory. We keep all products rotated so we never have any stale products in our warehouse facility.
What if we don’t like the coffee we bought from you?
We do offer money back guarantees, but, any product returned or exchanged must be in re-sellable condition and in original manufacturers packaging. CoffeeIcon.com will not exchange or refund any opened or partially consumed product. It must be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase. Please know your tastes before ordering coffees. We do have descriptions on all of our coffees to help guide you.
How much coffee does the individual coffee packets make?
Each of the commercial style packets that we sell are designed to brew into a 12 cup commercial brewer. We also sell the famous BUNN VPR pourover style that is perfect for convenient stores, bars, and offices.
What if I receive damaged products?
Can I track my order to see when I can expect it?
Yes, we have a system that links into FedEx that you can enter in your tracking number and the website will track it for you. CoffeeIcon.com will send you an e-mail with your purchase receipt and a shipping confirmation that will have your tracking number on it. We recommend that you save these e-mails until you receive your products that were ordered.

Keurig continues to seek environmentally friendly options for packaging and marketing its K-Cups. The non-bleached filter paper used in the K-Cup to provide an optimal taste profile is based on an environmentally friendly production process. Recyclable materials are used for the packaging of its 25/24 count boxes, master shipping cartons, and sales and marketing materials.
The challenge of protecting the freshness of roasted coffee while using environmentally friendly packaging is one that both Keurig® and the coffee industry are committed to overcoming. The K-Cup is constructed from materials that insure that the ground Arabica coffee is protected from humidity, oxygen and light which accelerate the staling process. The outer barrier is a combination of a multi-layer plastic cup material and a foil laminated plastic lid. This form of packaging is also used for other single-portion products like salad dressings, sauces and butter. Due to the size of the package it is not currently economically feasible to separate the components of the K-Cup after use. Accordingly, there are no federal government regulations requiring recycling of this type and size of packaging.
There are other environmental issues surrounding the brewing of coffee that have allowed Keurig to actively support a better environment. The Keurig system does not waste water because coffee is brewed one cup at a time. Glass pots and thermal carafes use water for brewing coffee by the pot which is often disposed of as waste after the coffee cools. In addition, detergents that are used in offices to clean glass pot and thermal carafe systems can contaminate our waterways. Finally, in order to sanitize glass pots and air-pots, many office coffee distributors soak them in acid baths, which are harmful to our waterways. Keurig recommends natural citric acid for all cleaning procedures and the Keurig system requires less frequent cleaning than traditional glass pot and thermal carafe systems.
Is Hot Chocolate Available for Keurig brewing systems?
Yes, you can make gourmet Hot Cocoa with your Keurig brewer! Keurig offers Hot Cocoa K-Cups in 24-packs from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. GMCR developed the hot cocoa recipe with external suppliers and has performed extensive testing with revisions to introduce a product that appropriately represents Keurig and Green Mountain Coffee Roaster's quality and convenience standards. The Hot Cocoa K-Cups are designed to be brewed at the 8oz setting (the smaller brew size setting may result in a significant percentage of un-dissolved powder and a "weaker" Hot Cocoa beverage). You can also just make hot water through your Keurig brewer, and mix in your favorite kind of instant hot cocoa.
What is the price of the Keurig system?
We do not sell our Keurig commercial brewing systems direct to offices through this website. We have a separate website for commercial Keurig accounts for the State of Texas at SouthernRefreshment.com
. Our pricing to offices is based on several factors including the number of employees in your office, cups of coffee/tea consumed per day, and other products ordered. Depending on your office’s specific situation, the B3000 is often loaned, rented, or leased for a reasonable monthly fee. Our B140 and B200 brewers can be sold or leased to offices. SouthernRefreshment.com is always being updated, so please check back often to see new items and pricing. Or feel free to call 1-866-377-2962.
