Flavored Coffee
Flavored coffee beans are coated with flavor compounds which are used to enhance the natural taste of the beans. Recent improvements in food science have led to the flavors being directly added to the beans as part of the roasting process.
Coffee beans, whether flavored or not, have very little effect on blood sugar. Coffee is 99% water, therefore it has almost no calories or nutritional value, regardless of the brewing method. This is why coffee does not need a nutritional label on its packaging. Coffee generally contains between 75 and 150 milligrams of caffeine in an 8 ounce cup, depending on the roasting strength and other factors. One cup of regular coffee contains around 2–4 calories, less than 1 gram of carb and 0 grams of fat. Flavored coffees will only add 0.8 calories, 0.3 grams of carb and no fat.
